Who we are

We are the dev team
you would have to ask.

SourcePRD is built by SOFTLINK, a software company in Israel. We build products for other people — and we have spent years on the other end of the question this product answers.

What we do when we are not building this

We are a development company. Companies hire us to build their software, and we have been doing it long enough that some of it now runs in places where being wrong is expensive: inside banks, inside enterprises, in products used by millions of people.

Most of our work is smaller and closer to the ground — startups and small companies building security and privacy tools, medical software, financial products, and things ordinary people use every day. Different industries, same shape: someone owns the product, somebody else writes the code.

  • QPrivacy Privacy technology that lets organisations see and control third-party data access without breaking their marketing tools.
  • Iluria Health AI wearable monitoring that improves ADHD care, for children and the clinicians and parents around them.
  • Tipmo NFC-powered tipping for hotels, resorts and restaurants, so guests can tip without cash.
  • Moose A smart home device that makes hot shaving cream from eco-friendly pods.
  • Klydo An animated clock that shows a new artist’s work every day.

And work we cannot name — the software running inside banks and enterprises is under agreements that do not allow it. Those are also the projects where being wrong is most expensive, which is part of why we care about this problem the way we do.

What we kept watching happen

The people who hire us are accountable for the result. They approve the budget, carry the deadline, and answer the customer. And over and over, we watched them lose track of what their own product did.

Not through carelessness, and not because they were not paying attention. It happens because the only complete, current account of a product is the code — and the person answerable for it cannot read that. So they ask. They ask us. And the answer arrives when we get to it, in our words, and they have no way to check it.

We were the bottleneck. Not by choice, but we were.

Then it got faster

AI changed the arithmetic. Code now lands faster than anyone can read it back, including us. A week of work arrives in an afternoon, and the person who has to answer for it was not in the room. The gap between what a product does and what its owner believes it does opened wider in the last two years than in the ten before.

Every honest way we tried to close it — a document, a weekly summary, a call — went stale the moment someone merged. Anything written about a product starts rotting immediately. Only something read from the product keeps up.

So we built the thing we needed

SourcePRD reads a codebase and keeps a living account of what the product actually does, in language the owner can read, checked back against the code, updated as the team ships. It is the answer we were being asked for, given directly, without us in the middle.

We use it on our own work and on our clients'. This site's own product story lives in it, and the change email on the home page is a real one about this product — which is the only kind of proof we think is worth much.

SourcePRD is a product of SOFTLINK LTD, Israel. We read your code read-only, never use it as training data, and access can be revoked at any time — the full detail is on our security page.
